The Chumash were the original inhabitants of the lands that Fr. Serra named San Buenaventura and basically enslaved them to build his mission. 

The old Crystal Lodge on Thompson Boulevard. This looks like the 1960s, when I would have gone to the Academy of St. Catherine by the Sea, around the time the idiots re-routed Highway 101 from Main Street to a freeway that cut over the town and ruined the sleepy life that was Ventura.

Typical Ventura buildings on Main Street. I miss the OLD Ventura before wealth came in and changed it to suit entitled tastes.
